BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE
In the 2022 Hong Kong Film Awards, veteran performer, martial artist and director Sammo Hung was given a lifetime achievement award. The award was presented during the ceremony on Sunday evening at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The event was attended by more than 3,000 guests, including celebrities from all over the world. The event was also broadcast to a large number of viewers in China. The film was a hit at the box office, and the awards ceremony was watched by millions of people.
The Board is the highest decision-making body of BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION PRIZE, and is responsible for reviewing and interpreting the Charter; suggesting important scientific research fields to be considered for THE PRIZE; appointing members of the Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team; setting requirements for nominating experts; verifying and approving the final review results; and other tasks as assigned by the Secretariat. All decisions of the Board are final. The Board and its members support the Basic Law of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and maintain high social morality and professional ethics.
BOCHK SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Innovator Prize is an international research award supported by the Bank of China and the Chinese Government. It was established to promote and encourage excellence in scientific research in Hong Kong, especially in science and technology, with the objective of enhancing the competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area. The award is presented annually, and the winning research project should have significant impact on the advancement of science and technology in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The competition is open to academics and professionals from all disciplines worldwide. The submissions should be based on original research, and the articles should have a minimum of 8,000 words. The submissions should be in English and may not be previously published. In addition, the articles should be suitable for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
The judging panel will evaluate the submissions based on their quality and relevance to the theme of this year’s prize, which is “Our Changing World”. Each work should be creative in nature, aiming to reflect or highlight aspects of global evolution. The judging panel will consist of leading scholars from Hong Kong and abroad, as well as representatives from the Hong Kong Society for History.
The HKHRAP is the first art prize to focus on refugee rights, and has encouraged Hong Kong artists to explore the state of human rights both at home and abroad. In addition, Justice Centre Hong Kong has introduced this year’s InkluVision Award, supported by Goethe-Institut Hong Kong, to recognise artworks that advocate an inclusive society without limitations and define inspiring visions. It will also present a separately judged Youth Award again this year.
