This year’s winner, a professor from the University of Maryland, will be awarded an additional US$ 100,000 to support his or her future research plans. The award is part of the US$ 100 million HK-China Innovation and Technology Fund (HKITF), a public-private partnership between the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Government of China to accelerate the development of key technologies in both countries.
In addition to the monetary award, the winner will have the chance to attend an awards ceremony and gain international exposure. The winning author will also be able to network with other authors and learn about the publishing industry.
